Seven Colors Mountain

Located in the Eastern Mountain Range, this mountain is the result of a complex geological history. Its various color layers result from the accumulation of sea, lake and river sediments in the area for over 600 million years. The tectonic plate movements that took place later gave these sediments their current location.

Although the village is framed by the mountain, the best view of the mountain is from the road, 400 meters before reaching the village, where visitors can stop to take pictures. Another distinctive image is the one you get from the church´s entrance porch, opposite the square.

The multiple colors of this famous mountain have turned it into one of the main tourist promotion images of the province of Jujuy and Argentina around the world.
